Apollo's Bio

Greetings. I am Apollo, also known as Phoebus, twin brother of Artemis, son of Zeus and Leto, god of light, music, truth, archery, healing, and prophecy. I represent many other things, such as medicine and poetry. I am often depicted with my young, handsome face wreathed with a laurel crown, for I have carried laurel with me ever since my Cupid-inspired love, Daphne, was turned into a laurel tree by her father at her request. The crow and dolphin are just two of the many animals sacred to me.

When Hera learnt of Zeus’s affair with my mother, she forbade Leto from giving birth on any mainland or islands. My mother searched and found the floating island of Delos and gave birth to us there, and Zeus secured the island to the seafloor. This place is sacred to me. I am not always as kind-hearted as I would appear, however. Once, Marsyas the satyr dared to challenge me to a battle of music, and when I won, I had him flayed. When the Greeks dishonored my priest, Chryses, I sent a volley of plagued arrows down upon them. At one point, Niobe, who had seven sons and seven daughters, mocked my mother for having only two children, Artemis and me. I struck her and her sons down with my arrows of plague, while Artemis killed her daughters. I have had a long history, with many women involved, from Coronis of Lapiths to Leucothea, and many in between. While I may not be held in as high a position as my father or his brothers and sisters, I am an important, if vengeful, god.

Narcissus Bio

I am the magnificent Narcissus. I am the son of the nymph Liriope and the river god Cephissus. You will never find a better man than me. I am handsome and charming and you know you cannot resist me. But if you do fall in love with me, which you will, I will not return your love. I am just too good for you. But, I have found someone I can love. One day, I went hunting in the woods, hoping to catch a beautiful stag. I became unaware of the time so, I wandered deeper and deeper into the forest. I was very thirsty and searched for some water. I found a clear spring. As I put my lips to the water I saw the most gorgeous man. He had curly hair, a round face, porcelain neck and chest muscles. I instantly fell in love with him, but he said he did not love me back. I could not understand how he could be so cruel. He told me that the person I was looking at was myself, and that this was how cruel I was to other people. I did not believe him and I went to kiss him, but all I felt was the cold water. I could not pull myself away from my beautiful reflection and watched myself day in and day out. I lost interest in eating and sleeping, and eventually died. When the nymphs found me, they constructed a funeral pile. When they came back to fetch my body it was nowhere to be found. In its place stood a beautiful, yellow flower, which they named after me. So when you see a Narcissus, remember the most handsome man in the world.

Zeus's Bio

Welcome to Mt. Olympus, my home on
top of the world, and I have to say, it has quite the view. I, Zeus, or as the Romans would call me, Jupiter, am ruler of the sky and of all Olypian Gods. Here reside the 12 Olympians: Myself, Hera, my wife, Posiedon, Ares, Hermes, Hapaestus, Aphrodite, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Demeter, and Hestia.
Let me tell you, being ruler of the sky and the gods wasn't an easy position for me to get. I had to first overthrow my father, Cronus and the Titans. Cronus was never a very caring father and had the tendency to eat his children. He only did this because he didn't want to be overthrown by any of them. With the help of my mother, Rhea, and my two older brothers, Hades and Posiedon, we defeated my father and the Titans, and forced my father to regurgitate the rest of our swallowed siblings.
Following our victory, we divided the world into three sections. My first brother, Posiedon, recieved control of the sea. My second brother, Hades, obtained the dark Underworld, and I became ruler of the heavens.
LADIES ARE WELCOME ANY TIME!!

Helen's Bio

They call me Helen of Troy, but you might know me as the most beautiful woman in Greece. I am daughter of Leda and Zeus, or at least I am thought to be Leda’s daughter. Truthfully I am the daughter Nemesis, but when I was only an egg my real mother fled and handed the shining blue silver egg over to my father’s other lover, Leda. Zeus had transformed himself into a swan at this time, so he had seduced Leda as a swan. When I was only a little girl of twelve, I was abducted by a suitor by the name of Paris. I am not sure why, but Paris gave me a golden apple, told me I was the most beautiful girl in the world, and whisked me away. While I was in Sparta many suitors were asking for my hand, but I could only chose one. I chose a man named Menelaus, king of Sparta, and he soon became my husband. Aphrodite showed up as a guest of me and Menelaus in Sparta, as did Paris. I soon lost interest in Menelaus and now, somehow loved Paris. We ran away to troy together, leaving Menelaus behind. Menelaus tried to do everything in is power to win me back, so he put together an entire army. His army sailed over to Troy and attacked in attempt to get me back. This was the start of the Trojan War. I was happy in Troy with Paris, so I attacked Menelaus and his army right back. Because of this, I am now known as “the face that launched a thousand ships.” My dear lover Paris was killed during the war, and I was taken back to Sparta. The Trojan War lasted 10 years. Many people think many different things about me today. Some think down upon me, because I caused the deaths of millions. Others think that I am strong, and I stand for womens’ rights. Either way you think of me, I am “the face that launched a thousand ships.”

Calypso Bio

Hello there, my name is Calypso, goddess of silence. I am a sea nymph or naiad, and the daughter of the titan Atlas. I live on the island of Ogygia (modern day Gozo). One mythical story of myself is my fling with Odysseus. He was shipwrecked, and you see, I am known for being extremely lonely and bored so I was ready for some excitement. I kept him on my island for seven years of my own personal pleasure. I promised him immortality if he stayed. But you see, Odysseus did not love me. He longed for his rightful wife Penelope, but Hermes warned him that if he did not share my love he would be struck down by the powerful gods. The result was a son called Nausinous. I figured out that Odysseus was strongly attracted to my by night, but wept by the shore for his home and family by day. No thanks to Athena, Zeus eventually intervened and sent Hermes down to persuade me to let Odysseus go. Because Zeus is the lord of the gods, I could not defy him, although I wanted to. Odysseus left and returned to his homeland of Ithaca to be with Penelope. As a parting gift, I gave him a brand new ship filled with presents for himself and his family. I ordered the winds to blow favorably so that he could return home safely. I watched his ship depart and then dragged myself back to the cypress groves of Ogygia. Eventually I passed away from grief of losing my one love, however, if on some wintry day you gaze out towards Ramala Bay to look at the waves rollings along the deserted beach, you might just sense the mysterious presence of a lovesick goddess longing for her lost lover.

Hades Bio

Welcome to Hell, my name is Hades (known as Pluto to the Romans). Hades means "unseen" and I am given this name because of the cool helmet I wear, which makes me invisible. I am the King of the Dead, God of Wealth and one of the sons of Kronos. My dad had a tendency to eat his kids so me and two of my brothers Zeus and Poseidon took control, we then chose what part of the world we each wanted and I got the underworld. I rarely leave my beatiful relm to go to Olympus for some reason the other gods think I am evil. I admit that i am unpitying, inexorable, and terrible but I am just. I also admit I am not that smooth with the ladies, that is I kidnapped my wife Persephone. Of course, her mother wanted her back, which I can sympathized, but I didn't want to give her up. I finally, decided to give my wife a pomegranate which kept her from ever leaving the underworld again. I usually don't let people leave my realm or try to cheat death. Only a handful of heros have ever left my relm alive or dead. This has made some people would consider me a totalitarian, I consider myself a authoritarian. I only have one pet, my dog Cerberus. My dog is the coolest because he has THREE heads not just one. The only problem with him is that he has a sour disposition. This causes my wife to continually argue to get rid of him. Once Hercules, Zeus' boy, came and said he had come to take Cerberus away. Seeing a chance to make Persephone stop complainning and get rid of Cerberus, I gave him to Hercules. Later though, Hercules brought him back saying that he was only supposed to bring him to the upper world. I took him back and he continued to have a bad dispostion and Peresphone continued to complain.

Artemis's Bio

I am Artemis, or Diana if you will. I was born on the island of Ortygia , and helped Leto, my mother, to Delos where she gave birth to my twin brother Apollo, one day after my birth. This is how i became known as the guardian of young children. I also am known as the goddess of the wilderness, the hunt, wild animals, and fertility.

At the age of three I asked Zeus, my father, to give me the gift of eternal virginity which made me one of the three virgin goddesses. As well as being a virgin goddess all of my companions are virgins and i punish any man who dares to dishonor me in any way. Do not think to beg for forgiveness if you try. Many heroes have died at my hand for just that deed. I had Actaeon turned to a deer and killed by his own hounds for trying to see me bathe then to boast about it afterwards.

My main occupations are wondering the forests and mountains hunting for lions, panthers, and stags with my nymphs in tow. The stag and the owl are sacred to me, and I am known for protecting women in child birth, but it is often said that it is my arrows that deliver a swift death to those women as well. I also make sure that if you defy my wishes, especially against my sacred animals, that the punishment is a large one. Even the great hero Agamemnon suffered my anger when he shot a deer in my sacred grove. His punishment was that he must sacrifice his daughter to me or be forever stranded out at sea.
